If you’re currently enrolled in Medicare or looking to make changes to your coverage, now is the perfect opportunity. Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment is officially open and runs through December 7th, 2024. During this period, you can make important changes to your healthcare plans, ensuring they meet your current needs for a January 1, 2025 effective date.
What is Medicare Part D?
Medicare Part D is prescription drug coverage. If you’re looking to add or change this coverage, now is the time to explore your options and make sure your medications are covered at the lowest possible cost.
The best way to shop for Part D this year is through medicare.gov due to a lot of the plans not working with agents and brokers next year. We have created a self service video and if you would like a copy, please email our team.
What is Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Advantage, also known as Part C, offers an alternative way to receive your Medicare benefits. These plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare and often include extra benefits like vision, dental, and hearing coverage. These plans have more limited networks than traditional Medicare with a Medicare Supplement plan.
Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment Reminder
If you’re approaching your birthday, don’t forget that Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Open Enrollment is tied to your birthday month. You have a 60-day window from your birthday to enroll or make changes without being subject to medical underwriting. This is a great opportunity to ensure your supplemental coverage fits your healthcare needs and budget. This does not always fall dring the same period as the Part D and Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment.
